HOPE

Bella, Mark and I started our day by watching Barack Obama get sworn in as the 44th president of the United States. I am so happy that Bella was able to witness such a monumental day in our history as a country and as human beings. Dr. Martin Luther King hoped for a day when a man would be "judged by the content of his character and not the color of his skin" and we were able to witness that. I am so proud.
Beyond the fact that he is African-American, Obama represents the unification of many ideals that I have as we face an insecure time as inhabitants of the beautiful mother earth. I am so hopeful and I look forward to being a part of a movement towards equality and respect for the earth and her inhabitants.
