Well it has been some time since we last posted and boy oh boy has Bella grown. Over the past 2-3 months, Bella has expanded her vocabulary exponentially. She is a little playback machine so our potty mouths have gone mostly by the wayside. Some of her current greatest hits are saying "funny sounds", "funny sunny", mommy's eye shades are a "hat", "thanks", "blankek" (for her blanket), when a bus goes by she says it is going to sleep, she will say "go" when she either wonders where something is or if she is hiding. When she sees Laura's breasts, she says "mmmm good". Bella has a fascination with petting everything; when she sees something like clouds or a plane or a cow or trees or the ocean she says "pet", like she wants to reach out and touch it. It is very cute. Bella is addicted to music and loves the "do do song" (actually the isty bitsy spider beginning), the wheels on the bus, the "hello song" from music together and "row row row your boat". Sometimes she wants to listen to them over and over and over. Bella loves a cacophony of sounds and will hit two or three toys that make different noises while music is going on in the background.
Bella is a bruiser and likes to do somersaults, jump in her crib and on the bed and "play" roughhouse with Sunny. She loves the water and her bath, except ending them can be a real pain. She loves to play in the back yard for hours with water filling cans and watering plants. She is fascinated with the amusement parks we have taken her to and is the first to claw her way onto any ride without fear.
She loves hide and seek, she loves to say "where's Bella" when she hides and if you say is she outside, she will say "noooooo", is she under the table "nooooo", etc.
Bella is cutting her first two year molar and just completed her first successful dentist trip...no cavities and a great sport.
She is now comprehending concepts and stringing together numerous words to form sentences. When we pass an exit on the freeway where her friend lives, she gets upset when we don't get off there. She will hear something and then repeat it, such as daddy is in the office. She remembers places we have gone and asks to go to some of them. For example, she knows where the parks are and if we hit a street where one is, she will ask to go to the park. Bella loves being outside and trips to the park and beach are taken whenever possible.
Bella is sweet and sour, that is for sure as well as she has settled into twodom. Sometimes it takes every ounce of strength we have to hold on to her when she wants to do something she should not. She tantrums full bore on the ground kicking and screaming once and a while. Other times, she will snuggle and give hugs and kisses. One thing for sure is that she is always on the move and into everything. She rarely takes a couple minutes out to read herself a book. Sometimes she will say "mommy's hand" or "daddys hand" because she wants to hold hands.
Bella is in love with Bryce, a friend's son, even though he totally blows her off.
Elmo, Ernie and the Sesame Street crew have infiltrated the scene, and she loves them all. Her favorite books are mostly potty books, bear hunt and the sea which we have both read about 5000 times.
She loves seaweed, her daily chlorella tablets ("six chlorella" she will say), salmon sausage, all berries, crackers, pesto, yogurt, cheese, soup, salami, filet mignon (only grass fed), veggie juice, anything with a lot of lemon and salt and eggs (just the whites). We have a rotation because she wont eat the same thing day after day so we have to break it up.
We took a trip to Denver, left Bella with grandma Joyce for a weekend in Seattle and Bella has thrived right through it all. In fact, she is a traveler and loves planes, trains, buses, etc.
She has grown up so fast and is such a little person all of a sudden it is truly hard to believe. We are doing our best to absorb every minute of it with open arms and hearts. Bella continues to fill our lives with challenge, learning, gratitude, joy, freshness, bliss, laughter, frustration, happiness and light.
